Respite Care

If your son or daughter continues to live with you once they have reached 16 you may need use of our respite care service. These services allow you to have a break from your role as a full-time carer and at the same time your son or daughter gets the opportunity to spend time with young people of their own age and have a positive experience.

The respite care is available for all young people with complex needs, including learning disabilities and mental health problems. The team are fully qualified to deal with a range of complex cases and do their best to make everyone feel at home quickly.

Families that use our respite care services often come back to us every time they need a break as the young people prefer to be in familiar surroundings that they get to know and also meet the same members of the team that understand their needs.

Every bedroom is a double and has a bed with bedding provided, desk and wardrobe. The communal areas, kitchen, living room and garden are designed to make it easy for the young people to spend time together comfortably. There is Wi-Fi and Sky TV available for all.

We also offer short term accommodation and support for those coming on under emergency short term placements. This service normally covers anything between 72 hours to a week.

Our team are all experienced in working with young people and will make sure that everyone that comes to stay with us for a short break has a positive experience. They get to meet other young people and get the opportunity to learn skills to live independently as well as getting involved in fun activities.
